To Whom It May Concern,

Over the past 5 months, Javier Mendez has been conducting safety training classes in Spanish for our Spanish-speaking employee population. He has conducted training classes on several topics including Hazard Communication, Safe Lifting, Injury Illness and Prevention, Bloodborne Pathogens, Forklift Safety, Motorized Cart, and Fire Extinguisher safety. Our audience consists of Facilities Management, Dinning services, Student Housing, and Student Center employees and they all work in various locations around our campus.

In the past, it has been extremely challenging to present training to this portion of the work force that not only fulfills the Cal/OSHA training requirements, but also ensures comprehension and acceptance by the employees. Javier’s training sessions have effectively communicated the safety knowledge that our employees need to know and at the same time, have made time, have made our employees feel included and valued in the work place. The training addresses the importance of responsibility, accountability, and ownership of each employee’s actions in the work place and how that impacts overall injury prevention. Unique to any other type of training I have sampled or taken, Javier’s style incorporates cultural aspects and elements to which our employees relate and obtain the employee’s buy-in and acceptance of the acceptance of the importance of working safely.

We have received many unsolicited compliments from supervisors and employees regarding the quality and effect of this training and we feel that we made the right decision in hiring Javier to assist us in our training efforts. Looking forward, we are planning and continuing to have Javier assist us in our Spanish training needs and have many more classes to schedule in the coming months.

Javier is responsible, flexible, and accommodating in meeting our need and as a result, I highly recommend Javier’s services to any organization. Please feel free to contact me with any questions at the contact information below.

Sincerely,
